DRAFT Commission Decision published

As indicated in the last update, the Decision voted last week was published on the Official Journal on Saturday, with the number 2007/588/EC.

UK restricted zones and measures

As of 24 August the two protection zones around the original outbreaks have been removed and have been merged into the surrounding surveillance zone. The latter can be removed only after at least 15 more days.

Attached a map (removal of protection zones, no change in surveillance zones).

Commission Decision 2007/588/EC has been implemented in the UK as of Saturday 25 August. However, some internal additional precautionary restrictions still remain in force, such as the prohibition of all animal markets, shows and gatherings (with the exception of gathering of animals then sent for slaughter).
